HOW MANY SETTINGS DO THE RING CONSIST OF?
Wedding rings are usually made of precious metals such as gold, white gold, platinum and titanium, and their setting indicates the amount of metal in the wedding ring.
The setting of a wedding ring is determined by the purity of the metal and is often expressed as "carat" (abbreviated "kt" or "ct").
Gold wedding rings usually come in 14kt, 18kt or 22kt settings. 14kt gold contains 58.3% of gold and other metal alloys, 18kt 75% and 22kt gold 91.7%. Therefore, higher karat gold contains a higher percentage of gold and is generally more expensive.
White gold wedding bands also usually come in 14kt, 18kt or 22kt settings. But white gold is made using alloys of gold and white metals (usually silver, palladium or nickel). White gold wedding rings have a white and shiny appearance in appearance.
Platinum wedding bands usually have 95% or 90% platinum content, and therefore higher gauge platinum wedding rings are more expensive.
Titanium wedding bands are usually made with a high purity of titanium (usually 99% or higher) and their settings are usually expressed in "Ti", not carat.
The setting of the wedding ring is one of the factors affecting the price of the wedding ring. But at the same time, the appearance, durability and purpose of the wedding ring are important as well as the setting.
